ADA Improvements

The Americans with Disabilities Act provides a framework and a checklist of many of the requirements to the standards for design to make public accommodations for people with disabilities. When achievable, ADA regulations necessitate that architectural and communication barriers be eliminated in public areas of an existing facility. Barrier removal solutions in and to existing facilities can be accomplished by making modest modifications to a physical structure that meets the ADA regulations issued by the Department of Justice.

Our commercial construction team can modify an existing facility so that people with disabilities have the same opportunity to purchase goods and services as others do in the community. PNE Construction has years of experience in the removal of structural barriers and signage requirements to public areas to bring existing facilities ADA compliant.

Priorities to ADA Improvements:

  • Accessible approach and entrance to parking
  • Accessible entrances and exits
  • Accessible sales and services counters (good and services)
  • Accessible restrooms
  • Accessible route that connects all aspects and spaces
